Rheumatoid arthritis also is knee arthritis which can start at a very young age although it is most common in older people. Post-traumatic arthritis often happens because of some type of injury. An injury to the knee such as a fracture or ligament injury can trigger this type of knee arthritis. Knee arthritis starts with a gradual swelling of the knee joint with mild pain. The arthritis causes the joint to become stiff and painful. This condition is exacerbated by lack of exercise. Knee arthritis can be cured in different ways although some people do not find relief from this condition. There are painkillers that can alleviate the awful effects of this condition. There is some evidence that a proper diet could help relieve the pain. Fish that contains Omega-3 fatty acids can help to relieve the pain. Ginger put into food might help alleviate the effects of arthritis. There are some that would suggest that exercise will help relieve the pain caused by arthritis.
