Recognizing The First Symptoms Of Menopause

********

Menopause is the time in a woman s life when her menstrual cycle is ending and she is entering a new phase of her life. A woman is considered as being menopausal when she has not had her period for a full year or more, and it usually occurs naturally, most often after the age of forty-five, although this is not always the case.

There are several first symptoms of menopause that are usually quite sudden and noticeable, including a change in periods, hot flashes and night sweats, trouble sleeping, vaginal dryness, mood swings, and hair loss. The first symptoms of menopause are usually hot flashes and vaginal dryness, but again this varies from one woman to the next, as each case is different.

A Natural Change Of Life

Regardless of what your first symptoms of menopause actually are, it is these first signs of menopause which are actually most important, because it signals the onset of menopause and the time at which you will want to be getting yourself ready and prepared for the more serious symptoms to come.

It is important for all women to know that menopause is not a disease or disorder in any way. It is absolutely normal and natural and every woman experiences menopause at one point in their life. Most women do not require treatment for their menopause, but if the symptoms are especially severe or uncomfortable for the woman then she certainly does have the option of using some form of treatment. Treatments such as medications can help to relieve the most disturbing symptoms including hot flashes and decreased sex drive.

It is important when you notice the very first symptoms of menopause you get in to see your doctor as soon as possible, so that you can discuss the condition with them, learn more about it, and determine whether or not you should start some sort of treatment.

There are also various support groups and therapies that are available specifically for women who are going through menopause. These offer women a great outlet to go to and let their feelings out about what they are going through and how they are feeling. Menopause can definitely be a very challenging time in any woman s life and it is vital that she have people around her who are caring and supportive and who will help her get through this difficult time in her life.
